'Dance On Your Own' combines delicately plucked guitar with Scott Harrisson's soaring, ethereal voice and some angelic vocal harmonies to create a beautiful, plaintive, emotional song. Fool Child are often billed as a combination of folk rock and surf rock and that they certainly are, evoking two fellow Australian groups, 78 SAAB's forgotten 90's gem 'If I Try' and early 00's group Intercooler's 60's-infused song 'If I Try'.
